Character Chat Terms of Service

The rules for using Character Chat and its AI companions.

  1. Acceptance. By using Character Chat you agree to these Terms of Service.
  2. Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live.
  3. The service. Character Chat provides conversations with fictional AI characters for entertainment.
  4. Fictional characters. All characters are fictional adults. Any resemblance to real people is coincidental.
  5. Not professional advice. Replies are not medical, legal, financial or psychological advice.
  6. Your account. You are responsible for keeping your login details safe and for activity on your account.
  7. Accurate information. You agree to provide truthful registration information and keep it up to date.
  8. Acceptable use. You will not use Character Chat for anything illegal, harmful or abusive.
  9. Prohibited content. You may not request content involving minors, non-consent, real persons or illegal acts.
  10. No harassment. Do not use the service to harass, threaten or impersonate others.
  11. No automated access. Scraping, bots and reverse engineering of the service are not allowed.
  12. User content. You keep ownership of what you write, and grant us a licence to process it to run the service.
  13. Generated content. Images and text generated for you may be used by you for personal, non-commercial purposes.
  14. Our intellectual property. The Character Chat name, design, characters and artwork belong to us.
  15. Premium plans. Some features require payment. Prices are shown before you buy.
  16. Billing. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled from your account settings.
  17. Refunds. Payments are non-refundable except where required by law.
  18. Free trials. Trial terms are shown at signup and may convert to a paid plan unless cancelled.
  19. Availability. We aim for constant uptime but do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted.
  20. Changes to the service. We may add, change or remove features or characters at any time.
  21. Suspension. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
  22. Termination by you. You can stop using Character Chat and delete your account at any time.
  23. Disclaimer. The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
  24. Limitation of liability. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.
  25. Indemnity. You agree to cover losses arising from your misuse of the service.
  26. Privacy. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and forms part of these terms.
  27. Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Character Chat is operated.
  28. Severability. If any part of these terms is invalid, the rest stays in effect.
  29. Updates to terms. We may revise these terms; continued use means you accept the changes.
